This policy explains what AnglerBook (the “App”) does with your information. The short version: AnglerBook is built to keep your fishing log on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account. GLYSK OÜ does not run servers that collect or store your fishing data, and the App contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
01Who we are
The data controller is GLYSK OÜ, a company registered in Estonia, publisher of AnglerBook. For any privacy question or request, contact development@glysk.eu.
02What the App records, and where it lives
You create the content; the App stores it locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database. If you turn on iCloud sync, that same content is mirrored to your private iCloud account so it stays consistent across your devices. In both cases it remains under your control — GLYSK does not receive a copy.
- Account. Sign in with Apple gives the App an Apple-provided identifier (and, if you allow it, a relay email). We use it only to tie your data to your account on your devices.
- Sessions & location. When you record a session, the App captures GPS coordinates, start/end points and timestamps, and uses Apple’s services to turn coordinates into place names. Location is captured only while you are recording and only with the permission you grant.
- Gear & flies. The equipment and fly patterns you log, drawn from the gear catalog.
- Photos. Catch and fly photos you add, saved to your photo library (including dedicated albums) and referenced by the App.
- Conditions. Weather for your session location, retrieved from Apple’s weather service.
- Activity. Calories and related workout data the App reads from Apple Health/HealthKit — only with your explicit permission.
03Health & fitness data
If you grant access, AnglerBook reads activity data such as calories from HealthKit to enrich your session log. In line with Apple’s requirements, health data is used only to provide features inside the App. It is never used for advertising or marketing, and it is never sold or shared with third parties. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.
04Permissions you control
Location, photos and Health access are all opt-in and requested when a feature needs them. You can change or withdraw any of them at any time in iOS Settings; the related feature simply stops until you grant it again.
05Subscriptions
AnglerBook Pro is sold and billed by Apple through your App Store account. Apple processes the purchase; GLYSK receives confirmation of your subscription status (active or not) so the App can unlock features. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple’s privacy policy governs the purchase itself.
06The gear catalog
The App fetches reference gear data from a public file hosted on GitHub. When it does, your device makes a normal web request to GitHub, which means GitHub may process technical data such as your IP address to serve the file — the same as visiting any website. No personal fishing data is sent in that request. GitHub’s handling is covered by GitHub’s own privacy statement.
07Who your data is shared with
GLYSK does not sell your data and does not share it for advertising. The only parties involved are the platform providers that make the App’s features possible:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, iCloud sync, HealthKit, Maps/geocoding, weather, and App Store subscriptions, under Apple’s privacy policy.
- GitHub — serves the public gear catalog file, as described above.
Because Apple and GitHub operate globally, some processing may take place outside the EU; those transfers rely on the safeguards in their respective policies.
08No tracking
AnglerBook includes no third-party advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics SDKs. It does not build an advertising profile of you and does not track you across other apps or websites.
09Retention and deletion
Your log stays for as long as you keep it. Deleting an item removes it from the App; deleting the App removes its on-device data. If you used iCloud sync, content in iCloud is managed by you through your Apple account and iOS storage settings. To have any account-linked data on our side addressed, email development@glysk.eu — though in normal use we hold no copy of your fishing data.
10Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because most data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you can exercise many of these directly in the App and in iOS. For anything else, contact us. You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or your local supervisory authority.
11Children
AnglerBook is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, contact us and we will help address it.
12Security
Data on your device is protected by iOS and your device passcode/biometrics; iCloud content is protected by Apple’s security. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to keep your device and Apple account protected.
13Changes
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Apple is not responsible for AnglerBook or its handling of your data. Your use of iCloud, HealthKit and the App Store is also governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
